Our mission is to help prevent the abuse and neglect of Ohio’s children, by serving as an expert resource for collaboration, information, and education.

Our Key Strategic Priorities

1. Serve as a resource and facilitator of education for the general public as well as professionals within the prevention, child protective, educational, and child care arenas. Key areas of focus will be:
   • SBS prevention
• Effective Parenting
• Early recognition and prevention of child abuse and neglect
2. Develop a formal plan and mechanisms for enhancing the public’s understanding of the prevalence of child abuse/neglect and the need for prevention.
3. Serve in a visible leadership role in advocating for key child welfare and prevention/child abuse related legislation.
4. Establish relationships on a statewide basis with the goals of:
   • Being a valued statewide resource
   • Raising awareness about the prevalence of child abuse and the need for prevention
   • Facilitating the sharing of best practice information
   • Enhancing collaboration and the availability and effectiveness of prevention services statewide.
5. Serve as an expert resource and information referral site for professionals and families (supporting families and professionals in early recognition and reporting of potential child abuse and neglect situations and avenues for keeping children safe).
